Thank you for visiting our listed item. With the new eBay changes to occur on Feb 20 th , we are please asking all of our bidders to consider our flat rate shipping as part of the overall value of the item on which you are bidding. We understand that shipping from the west coast has many variables for flat rate shipping but we currently do not have the time to weigh each item and calculate that weight to a zip code. So, if you think our shipping is unreasonable, please do not bid. Bongo Bear plush toy, 1950s vintage. He is the famous cartoon character seen on the Golden Book, created by the Walt Disney Production Company. Measures 13 inches tall and 10-1/2 inches wide. Brown Bongo bear wearing a red shirt, white collar, and blue bow-tie. He is manufactured by Gund. The intact tag reads "Gund Mfg. The letter "G" being the rabbit head (J. Swedlin Inc., Succs) 200 5th Avenue, NYC, 10, NY." From the Golden Book we have seen, his costume looks original but it is held together by safety pins, which we have removed to see if t are any labels on the costume; t are no labels. Safety pins were not replaced. White wool felt collar and blue bow-tie with a thick hem thread down the middle. Red coat is a true felt fabric. T are no holes, no broken seams, no worn spots on the mohair-like material. He could very well be mohair but not sure. His face is a painted cheesecloth and being that his nose is the further extension, the black has worn off the tip of his nose. We know it has worn off because the tip of his nose is white and t is some wear on his eyebrows, which also extend out from his head was his eyes are fully painted. All of the facial features are painted. W all 4 body seams come together in the crotch, t are 2 threads that have broken loose and white stuffing is showing but not coming through; this area is still very tight. At the back of the heels are loose threads as though Gund didn't think this area was important; the loose threads are not a condition due to use but, rather, manufacturing. The tail is strong and solid but being extended from his body, it does have wear of the "fur" was the fingers and the hands look to be in good shape in terms of wear. One digit on his left hand looks to be poorly sewn (the material was not tucked correctly by the employee). This item will not be relisted but consigned to an antique store. We can only ship to Australia and Japan. New Feb 20th ebay rules do not permit us to ship to Canada.
