Beautiful Antique pure en fil linen sheet from France. Hand selected for beauty, embroidery and due to the larger beds of today, SIZE! Embroidered in a wide girth across the sheet are flowers, leaves and stems, below the embroidery is handdrawn jour work (ladderwork) that runs the complete length of the sheet. The center of the flowers are finely handsewn in triangle patterns that are visible in the close-up single flower picture. The bottom hem is done in the tiniest stitches possible, at first I tought it was sewn on a machine, but no, this is truly the intricate perfection of hand embroidery. Made from "pur fil" linen, the highest count and quality. White and smooth, this sheet has been photographed in various lighting situations, with flash and without. Purchased at an Estate in the Provence of Rhone-Alps/Cote de sur, France. Superior quality of linen!! Smooth and soft, no thinning, hand sewn design, seams and drawnwork (jour), The linens travel a great distance with me, sorry if they are a bit wrinkled on arrival and when photographing. A rare XXL size: 240cm x 320cm or 94.5 inches x 126 inches with a weight of 1.55 kilo ( 3.42 pounds) Check out my other items !
