Offered for auction is a priceless piece of the 60's Oiva Toikka "Fauna" glass collection for Nuutajarvi Notsjo Finland (later merged with Iittala). As the name suggests, the pattern is a continuous series of embossed "primitive" forest animal figures. The shape is a softly rounded kidney which has organic and functional feel. Totally amazing in its imagination and execution. I personally purchased this bottle in 1969. I have never seen another one since. It is lovely for home made salad dressings, syrups, sauces, salsas, etc. because of its shake/serve/store properties. NEVER set another ugly store bottle on the table again! This is a perfect example of why you've just got to love the Scandinavians--even the most mundane everyday items are expected to be beautiful. This bottle has had light use but still perfect, original cork. It measures 6" high without cork, 4" wide, and 2 5/8" across widest part of the bottom. Holds 16 oz./500 ml. I have been specialized in retail and interiors of Scandinavian/International modern design for over 40 years and stand behind the authenticity, accuracy, and condition of my products. Any questions, comments, requests can be directed to . I am always happy to help fellow modernists. Good luck and thank you for visiting the Suburbs.
