This is a Japanese WWll Naval sword in kaigunto mountings. The blade is unsigned, shinogi-zukuri shape with Sanskrit, bohi engravings, muromachi period ca.1500 era made old family blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust, no stain and in good condition. There is no nick, no bend, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The temper line is wavy notare temper throughout the blade and deep temper at the point. The scabbard is ray-skin covered wood scabbard, no dent, no tear, no crack and in excellent condition. Brass fittings are all original with cherry flower motif and the handle is tight fit and tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no loose and in good condition. It measures 24" tip to the guard, 23+3/8" cutting edge 1+1/16" width, 5 mm thickness and 35" in mountings. Shipping is $25 priority in U.S. Payment due within 3 days auction end.
