I am offering a magnificent college scrapbook prepared by a gentleman who attended Yale University in the mid 1890s. This unique find contains a wonderful collection of memorabilia from 1893 to 1895. The author, Mr. William Carson, kept meticulous records of his college days ... which were fortunately preserved in this book. He was a member of the Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity and later became editor of the Yale Courant. Although the binder is in rough shape, the contents are in amazingly good condition for their age. If you are a graduate of Yale University and/or have a keen interest in Yale / New Haven history, then this collection is a must have. It is an excellent snapshot of what it would have been like to attend college 115 years ago. There is no doubt that things have changed significantly since the late 1800s. There are over 70 pages of memorabilia in this scrapbook that include … Newspaper clippings Telegraphs and personal letters Notice of elections to the elite society of “Skull and Bones” (includes prominent names) Rate schedules for Yale resident housing Resident housing rental receipts Tuition bills from the Yale Treasurer University Dining Hall ticket Personal invitations from the President Cards / notices from the Dean’s Office Yale Gymnasium Prescription of Exercise Yale College Semi-Annual Examination read more
