Yamaha MG12/4 Alternate Bus Mixing Console Has 4 Mono XLR/Jack Mic/Line inputs and 4 Stereo Input (8x Mono Jack Sockets) Channels 5 and 7 also work as Mono XLR Mic inputs if required. All channels have 3-Band EQ with 2 Aux Sends (1 is Pre/Post Fader Switchable) Main Section has 2 Aux Returns, Main Output and Alternate 1-2 Output In traditional nomenclature this mixer would be stated as a 12/2/2 Mixer. Although this mixer can easily be used for live PA purposes, its main extra trick is that is has the additional alternate bus. So in a studio situation this allows the user to hear many instruments on many different channels but at the same time select any one channel to feed to the 'alternate bus' to a computer sound card or audio interface to be recorded. This function is not possible on a standard stereo mixer such as a simple 12/2. Home studio recording where a musician builds up tracks one layer at a time is the primary purpose of this type of mixing desk. It is in perfect working order and excellent condition.
