YANK - The Army Weekly - 27Issues 1944 (American edition, 5 cents):
January 7, 14, 21, 28; February 4, 11, 18, 25; March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 April 7, 14, 21, 28; May 5, 12, 19, 26; June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 1945 (Continental Edition, 3 francs): Victory Edition 1945 Most of these are in wonderful condition. However, they had been hole-punched and bound with two folding metal clip binders, one at top and one at bottom. Their previous owner had placed a piece of cardboard, cut to size, at the bottom of the stack, which protected the bottom issues beautifully. Unfortunately, the same was not done at the top, so the two issues on top (June 30 and 23, 1944) have some damage. I've removed and disposed of the metal clips to protect all issues from further damage and to properly evaluate them. Being bound tightly together protected the paper very nicely from deterioration. Briefly checking through each issue, t is no sign of anything torn out or missing, and all of the pinups are t CONDITION NOTES Jan. 14 : Name written in pen at bottom of front cover, looks like "Sgt. J.(C.?) Landry". Feb. 25 : 2" tear on cover, nothing chipped or missing, can be closed up fine. Mar. 3 : 5" tear on cover, part of which is a ½" x 2" missing piece, with part of handwritten name showing. Mar. 31 : Name written in pencil on back, in what looks like different handwriting than the others. Apr. 14 : Name written in pen at bottom of front cover. Apr. 28 : 2" x 5" section torn from edge/center of front cover. June 23 : Stapled edge a little rough and bottom inside corner folded up, but nothing missing. June 30 : Front cover is somewhat dirty and torn, due to having been unprotected at the top of the bound issues; actual missing portions are a 1" x 4" section at bottom right corner and ½" at top right. Second page is also chipped in those two places, but with less missing. Victory Edition 1945 : This one was folded in half, not bound. T's some general scuffing and wear at the fold and along the inside edge, but it's intact. Back cover has a 3 ½" tear at fold which can be closed up. I've been as careful as I can be in describing these, but I'm not a professional so please email me with any questions. If you need to see any of the photos in better detail, send me your email address and let me know which ones. SHIPPING Within U.S. only. Buyer to pay exact shipping cost, nothing more. I will ship promptly upon receipt of funds. NO RETURNS PLEASE read the descriptions carefully and ask questions. I do not want to subject these issues of YANK to any risk of damage through additional shippng and handling. I wanted to point out a slight discoloration to the edges of the pages. This can be seen in the pictures already posted, and it's more evident under fluorescent lighting than regular. While the newsprint was very nicely preserved (colors are bright and the paper smells fine), the edges were exposed to some air and are slightly discolored as a result. That's normal for newsprint of this age, but since I hadn't mentioned it before, I wanted to make it clear that it's t
