New York Central System Brass Dining Car & Railway Post Office Car Wall Mounted Candle Lantern with Chimney & Mounting Bracket in use during the 1800's and Turn of the Century. Lantern hall marked: on burner "Patd. Sept. 10, 1907," & on handle "NYCS." Chimney is hall marked: "trade mark - PYREX - made in U.S.A." Lantern measures: body is 7 inches long, 2 inches across at burner/chimney base, 3 inches wide with handle. Chimney measures: 5 & 1/2 inches long, 2 inches wide at base, 1 & 7/16 inches across at top. Lantern comes with: main body assembly, bottom cap, spring (for pushing candle up while burning), burner, unused candle with proper wick, and correct chimney. Lantern body, handle, and bracket are solid brass. Bracket has two screw holes for attaching to wall. Lantern is in very good condition. Delivery confirmation receipt included with mailing within US.
