1979-1980 New York Islanders, with Joe Duerr

Home for the Holidays

12" LP

Released BEFORE their first Stanley Cup, won by that NY Isles Dynasty that won 4 straight. This is a **SEALED** copy!!!! I don't know whatever happened to this charity, that was annually sponsored by WBAB. Seven NHL (now) Hall of Fame'rs are singing and pictured on this! "Artists" include: Bobby Ny (Nystrom), Billy Smith, Denis Potvin, Mike Bossy (sporting his '70's fro!), Bryan Trottier, John Tonelli, Chico Resch, Clark Gillies, William "Torney" (which I believe is a misprint for Bill "Torrey"), Al Arbour, (who together are arguably the best GM / head coach tandem EVER in ANY sport), Bob Bourne, Bill (Billy) Harris, Lorne Henning, Garry Howatt, Mike Kaszycki, Dave Lewis, Robert (Bob) Lorimer, Bert Marshall, Wayne Merrick, Stefan Person, Jim Pickard, Jean Potvin, Steve Tambellini, Ron Washe, and Ed Westfall.

Check out my other Islanders record, which was released just after they won their first Cup!

This Side: There is no such thing as a "perfect" record. Even sealed. I have made that faux pas, too.

That Side: Please don't expect a "perfect" record.

Plug Side: I do not have a professional record cleaner. PLEASE CLEAN ALL RECORDS BEFORE YOU PLAY THEM.

b/w: I have digressed to a very inexpensive, simple set-up. There are things that I may not here that a $10,000 set-up probably will. Did I mention that no record is perfect?? For this reason, I will no longer state what I heard or didn't hear UNLESS DIRECTLY INQUIRED. (This has seemed to have worked VERY well for potential bidders, both who have bought and those who passed. But both parties doing it this way, you and me--communicating--has worked, dare I say, perfectly thus far. This includes requesting additional pictures.)

A-Side: My camera is worth more than my system. With that said, it is powerful and WILL photograph ALL defects. However, I do not have the money to be shelling out fifteen cents per additional picture for every listing! But, ASK! I will oblige as long as you give me ample time before the auction ends and will send via email. (In other words, I can not guarantee additional pictures within 24 hours of the end.)

B-Side: We audiophiles are pretentious, picky, perfectionists, etc. Yes, I'm talking to you! It's not a bad thing, it is what it is, but with that in mind, our opinions differ as well. What I would consider EX, you would consider VG; what Mike the Mercury collector might think to be NM, Lois the London collector would consider EX. With this in mind, I also will no longer be placing a grade with the records. (Really, they are just two letters! I laugh at us--all of us--when we start debating what the grade is even though we are talking about the same defects and blemishes!) You know the saying about opinions...

"When you play it say it!": ASK! I have had some great conversations as stated above! (I know, us audiophiles usually don't have the time either.) But, if you are interested, I'd rather us discuss a disc before you decide and before I ship out and before you think that the extra pop you heard wasn't worth it and before we have both wasted more time and energy--and money--and before we're both not happy with the deal! No, it doesn't happen every time, but it has happened. I'd rather no deal and both satisfied (which also happens) then deal made and one (or usually both) unhappy (which has also happened.) What happens if you're unhappy--AND you have had aforementioned discussion with me? I will refund your money. Simple as that. However, you will need to return the record at your cost. It is also on your conscious if you decide to recor...
