This auction is for a NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY BRONZE MEDAL 1961 Medallic Art Co Lenaord Baskin Design..The large bronze medal commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the New York Public Library. The medal was designed by New York artist Leonard Baskin and features the theme Ex Scientia Spes (From Knowledge, Hope) with a double faced head of an elderly sage looking back and a hopeful youth looking forward. The reverse of the medal symbolizes The Library as a gateway to light and learning with two classical columns and rays of light. ...SIZE: 2 1/2" ACROSS. All paper work and original box is included and In good vintage condition,. I do not see any flaws.. U.S. ONLY PLEASE
