Old Yoruba carved wood figural staff, showing human, animal and bird figures. Wear patterns indicate ritual ethnographic use, perhaps related to fertility based on the females' pose. The wood is very light in weight and t appear to be remnants of polychrome decoration barely visible in places. Excellent condition with some very minor chipping, rubbing and wear commensurate with age and use, but no significant losses, damage or repair. I'd estimate age to be 80-130 years.Length = 28 1/4 inchesCheck out my other items !|
