This is a magnificent necklace. I purchased the necklace at an antique auction in Dallas, Texas. The necklace is described as being from Yoruba, Nigeria. The tag also states: Eshu Ogbon: Secret Societies Status Symbol. The necklace was made in 1934. The necklace is made of brown, tourquoise colored, cream, burgundy red and orange-red beads. As you can see from the pictures, t is the likeness of a face beaded onto a cloth background hanging at the end of each strand. The actual necklace part is made of nine strands of tiny beads held together with large beads at regular intervals. The strands measure 16 inches long from the top (32 inches around). With the face, the necklace measures 21 inches. Condition is excellent. I can find no loose beads or any problems.Shipping and handling within the USA via priority mail will be $5.00. Insurance is optional but recommended. International buyers will need to contact me for a shipping quote. Thank you for viewing this auction.
