Japanese Yosegi (Wooden Mosaic) Himitsu Bako (Personal Secret Box/Puzzle Box) The " Himitsu Bako " is a traditional Japanese puzzle box that was designed over 100 years ago in the Hakone region of Japan that is noted for its great variety of trees. These boxes were originally used by Samurai. This box is made of the " Yosegi " pattern of using wooden slats and rods to create a mosiac. All of this is done by hand, in Japan, where I aquired this box. This puzzle box requires 11steps to open and does not come with instructions. If you need help after your purchase, feel free to email me and I can give you some help with the 'trick' to it. :) This box has been well sanded and is absolutely beautiful. I am just too afraid of it being broken to display it and it has remained in a box for safe keeping since I purchased it. I still have the original fact sheet that came with it. English is on the back for us "Gaijin" or foreigners. I lived in Japan for 3 years. This is not a cheap, knock-off box, but the real thing. They cost a lot more in Japan than they sell for in Japan, trust me on that! Size: 4.7" x 3.4" x 2" (these are not super exact as the Japanese don't use inches) Handmade In: Hatajuku, Hakone, Japan Shipping : USPS Priority calculated by weight and Zip. I add a 50 cent handling fee to all of my auctions to help cover packing read more
