Up for auction is this collectable ceramic dish/ashtray by Japanese pop artist Yoshitomo Nara. This is a fairly rare piece that has been sold out since 2002. The image on the center of the dish is from a painting entitled "Too Young To Die" which the artist exhibited at the Yokohama Museum of Art in 2001. The piece is formed like an ashtray, but it was sold as a dish. At 10 inches in diameter, it can function as either dish or ashtray (functional art), ...or be used as neither and instead be displayed and enjoyed as art. This small chip is wholly located on the base and not on the painted side surface, so it is not noticeable when the dish is placed on a surface. Aside from the small chip, the rest of the dish is in very good condition - no scratches as the dish was box kept.
