This is a Zanesville Aqua Globular Bottle. The bottle is just over 7 3/4 inches high and has a capacity of one quart. It has a rolled lip and an unpolished pontil. These bottles were manufactured in Zanesville, Ohio between 1820 and 1840 probably by one of two glass houses: Zanesville Glass Works or the White Glass Company. We purchased the bottle the early 1980s at Garth's Auctions Inc. in Delaware, Ohio. Garth's is one of the countries leading sellers of early American furniture, glass and accessories. The bottle has 24 swirled ribs. T is a broken blister inside the neck of the bottle which is shown in picture 3. This defect is offset by the rib impression which is excellent. I offer insurance but it is at your expense. Insurance for the first $50.00 is $1.65. Please either add to your payment or ask me to revise your invoice. I will quote insurance on higher amounts upon request. I accept PAYPAL, cashier's checks or money orders.
