This sword makes for an attractive cane with a deadly secret; 29" of hand-forged, high carbon steel. Beautifully polished lacquered wood grip and scabbard. This sword is factory sharpened. The blade fits perfectly in the scabbard and draws easily. I have had it propped in the corner of my bedroom from the day I purchased it from Museum Replicas Limited.The Japanese government banned the wearing of swords in 1876, rebellious Samurai made many covert attempts to evade the law. One of the most ingenious was to disguise the sword as a walking staff. Thus, a Samurai discreetly continued to carry his weapon in full view of the authorities. 39" overall
