This unit is in pristine optical, mechanical, and cosmetic condition. As well as its bench-work optical value, it would also make a fine addition to any collection of Zeiss pristine-condition microscopes. I am reluctantly selling it only to expand my Zeiss collection in other directions. A light-section microscope provides an "optical cut" through the surface to be tested without destruction of the specimen. A fine band of light traces out the profile of the peaks and valleys of the surface at 200X and 400X magnifications. Measured values can then be read directly off the drum in microns. At 200X, one scale division = 40 micro-inches; at 400X, 20 micro-inches. Measurement options include: roughness height and width, plus waviness height and width. Additionally, curvature measurements and profile determination can be made on small parts. This unit comes with the following: (a) a camera-port option (camera not included); (b) a two-axis mechanical stage with 25mm (= 1in.) measurement range in both axes, with .0005 graduations; (c) xeroxed copy of 20-page Zeiss operating manual; (d) microscope unit comes with both coaxial- and fine-adjustment controls for sharp focusing; (e) power-supply cable included; power unit not included (operating manual lists power-unit voltage and wattage). Specs: Eyepiece magnification: 16X. Microscope magnification: 200X and 400X. Diameter of object field-of-view: At 200X: 1.4mm; at 400X: 0.7mm. Bulb (included): 6V 5W. Unit will operate on a range of voltages: 100, 110, 120, 127, and 240. Overall height: 14" (300mm). Base plate: 8 3/4" x 8 3/4" (220 x 220mm). Weight: 55#. Overall height: 14" (350mm). Two-axis adjustable stage area: 5 1/2" (137mm) x 4 1/2" (112mm). Again, this unit is in pristine optical, mechanical, and cosmetic condition. When you see it you'll agree!
