Up for bids is a nice clean working Zenith H-500 Transoceanic Shortwave Radio. The H-500 is a 7-Band radio, it was made in 1951. The set is in nice original condition. The black case cover has a few dings, but no major gouges, scratches or scuffs. The is a little fraying at one or two corners, but overall, the black cover material is in good condition. The material is well-attached to the case as well as the inside lid areas, w the wavemagnet is stored. The wavemagnet itself is nice (its original red cord and suction cups are still inside the back lid). The radio front is very clean and free of cracks. The knobs are nice clean complete originals-the center "brights" are clean too. The grill area is in good condition and the dial face and lens are also nice and clean. The dial pointer is a nice clean original. I dis-assembled, cleaned the set, replaced the tubular fractional value capacitors and any bad tubes, as well as the dial cord, then reassembled the radio. It is clean inside and out. The radio plays well. The pushbutton bandswitch assembly works fine. I sprayed the contacts and they too work well. The set works on all bands and plays with good clear volume on strong signals. The telescoping antenna is in good condition and ts a lug for an external antenna. The chassis is clean.
