ZIK Soviet Russian Naval Officers Dress Dagger 1952 Bid now and own a piece of Soviet history. The mirror finish on the dagger blade is marred only by shallow lengthwise scratches from being removed and returned to the scabbard. Leather on the sheath has minor indentations and a few scuffs. The gold plating has minor scratches and surface marring consistent with the items age. The button releases the knife from the sheath easily and smoothly snaps back in to place. Over all, this piece appears well cared and exhibits what one would consider normal wear and tear.Featured on the pommel is the state coat of arms of the Soviet Union, from 1946-1956 containing the hammer and sickle of the Communist Party. The butt of the pommel features the five-pointed star which is sometimes understood to represent the five fingers of the worker's hand, as well as the five continents. Clear engravings on either side of the blade include the manufacturers mark and year of production, (ZIK 1952) and the serial number N11476. The manufacturer, Kalnin Machines Plant, produced many of these types of parade daggers for Russian and Bulgarian officers of the Soviet Union. A tiny makers mark, which resembles a T inside of an unfinished diamond, is located on the handle side of the guard. (Please see photos) For additional details please contact us via e-mail read more
