ZIPPO LIGHTER PRESIDENT KENNEDY EUROPEAN TOUR 1963 Given to my uncle in appreciation of his efforts as Presidential pilot. Original box, has a card inside from the "President" appears unused ! From the estate of the late, highly decorated, US Army Lt Col, James Maschmann. He began his career as an officer in WW-2, over seas, as a recon pilot with the famed Blue Devils. He was shot down in Korea and survived, w he was trained to fly helicopters. He finished his career, back in Washington, as a chopper pilot with the US Army Executive Flight Detachment, flying the different presidents, Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson, until he retired in 1965.
