Rare WW2 Zippo Trench Art Lighter with U.S. and Australian Coins I recently found this interesting WWII lighter at a Boston, MA Estate. I am not an expert on collectible lighters, so I have listed several photos to give you a good look at this unique Zippo. From what I understand, this lighter was created (decorated) by a soldier during WW2 making it a uniquely historical item. The soldier who decorated this lighter, secured a 1945 U.S. coin on one side and a 1944 Australian coin on the other . The U.S. coin features a shield with an eagle on top. The Australian coin shows a crown atop a shield with a kangaroo and ostrich (?) on the sides. The bottom has a somewhat faded Zippo logo as well as a line of numbers above the logo (please see photo - tough to read). Not much of the black crackle paint remains, but overall the lighter appears to be in good shape with no surface dents/damage. The hinge seems to be a 4 barrel hinge, but I'm not sure if the piece threaded through the hinge is original to the lighter? The cover does open and snap shut nicely. Again, I'm not too familiar with these vintage Zippo lighters, so please feel free to contact me with any specific questions. Your lighter will ship, very well protected, via U.S. Priority Mail Insured. I am selling this Zippo lighter AS IS. Sale is Final. I take my 100% positive feedback
