China, mid to late 1900's. Zisha Yixing Redware Tea Pot Scholar Style Fujian Lotus Buddhist Form. Of round bodied form and modelled as a lotus bud with shallow domed cover and free moving lotus nuts within the cover and a round knop. The handle C-shaped and the spout S-shaped with incised decoration Base modelled and ending in a stem end - unmarked. Wear to the base - firing crack to join of the handle to the body - see photos. It measures approx. 4-1/2" tall by 7-1/2" from handle to spout and 5" deep. Be sure to scroll through our many photos for specifics!
