This is a beautiful beach landscape oil painting by Lori Zummo (1962-) , the American artist known for her Barbizon-influenced style. Depicted is an isolated, brush-covered sand dune with a couple colorful beach umbrellas. Thin white clouds cover part of the sky on a pleasant summer day. Canvas measures 14" by 18" and frame measures 20" by 24". Weight is approximately 12-15 lbs.
Zummo received a BFA from Syracuse University in 1984. In 1986 she received the first place award in oil painting from the National Society of Arts and Letters, New York chapeter. Thereafter she received a scholarship to the Master Class program at the New York Academy of Art. Her works have been shown at the Hurlbutt Gallery (Greenwich, CT), and galleries in Manhattan, Chicago, Boston, Washington D.C., Cincinatti, Sarasota, Southampton, Nantucket and MarthaÃ,Â's Vineyard. This painting is being sold on behalf of a collector in New York city, who has a fine collection of 20th century American and European paintings, including original works by Salvador Dali , Caroll Beckwith , among others.
