This is the very first time that Lance has crafted a fetish out of this material. Elephant Skin Jasper is mined out of ancient sea beds and the patterns are actually fossilized plant life. T will be a few other fetishes with this rock and that might be it for a while. This fetish was very difficult for the camera to properly focus. The complex lines must have confused the camera. Handmade sculpture is signed by artist Lance Cheama. Lance Cheama and his brothers Wilfred Cheama and Dan Quam are recognized as some of best Zuni Fetish carvers.
