Up for auction is this magnificent Zuni inlaid neckless and pierced earring set. The date of mfg is probably between the early 50's to the early 60's. It depicts a Humming bird with its beak in a petite point turquoise flower. The inlaid channel work, consisting of a combination of blue petite point turquoise, coral, jet, Mother of pearl and California Abalone shell is without a dought the best and most exquisite I have seen in 40 years of handeling Native American Jewelry. The inlay workmanship is "outstanding" . The silver channel work is at the top of the "Best of the best". This ensemble is signed "Benji Shiru - Tzuni - Zuni", who I understand was a young artisan in the 1950s. This is not confirmed at this time. The chain is hand made and the total circumference is approx. 19 inches and compliments the overall appearance of this set. What a magnificent addition to even the most prestigious collection. You can rest assured you "will be noticed" when you wear this ensemble. It is unbelievable. The photos do not do it any measure of justice. The owner has requested a reserve on it and I think it is a fair one and a cautious move for so beautiful a piece. Please, ask any questions before bidding and I will try and answer them. Good luck bidding on this auction.
