This is a great walking bear that Zuni Claudia Peina carved from chalcopyrite. Claudia carved the bear with his left legs extended and his head turned slightly to the right. Claudia tied an adornment of two turquoise nuggets and a piece of branch coral on the back of the bear. The bear is 1 3/4" long, and 1 3/8" wide and 1 1/4" tall. Claudia signed the bottom of the bear with her initials and "Z" for Zuni. A bear is an animal of strength and introspection. He has the power of the soul.
