This is an absolutely stunning wolf that Zuni Jeff Tsalabutie carved from a wonderful piece of Honduran black opal. This is a wonderful stone, it has opal flecks of red and blue and green within the stone. Jeff has tied an adornment consisting of a gold lip mother of pearl arrowhead tied on the back of the wolf with two lapis beads and a tube of coral. The wolf has inlaid turquoise eyes. This is a wonderful fetish, very unusual and collectable. I bought this wolf from Jeff during my recent trip to Zuni. Jeff is a member of the extended family of Gibbs Othole that includes other awsesome Zuni carvers like Dee Edaakie, Brion Hattie, Alonzo Esalio and Albert Eustace. This fetish is 2 3/4" long, 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" tall. The wolf is the protective and hunting animal of the east. He is a teacher and pathfinder on the never ending journey for survival.
