“Antique glass – it draw me in like a good mystery. What has the object witnessed? Who has owned it and why? It transports me to another time and place. I feel a connection with all who have appreciated the piece before me… I am now a piece of its history …" |
Audra BlevinsThe antique bug bit Audra early. When she was just a child, she would accompany her parents to antique shops, auctions, and flea markets. Her mother collected Depression glass and encouraged Audra to start her own collection. She decided on French Limoges china and early American pattern glass. She began educating herself by reading anything she could find on antique glass and china. After finishing her undergraduate degree from Lynchburg College, she decided to try her hand in the antiques business. She began in a small antique mall in rural Virginia, and later expanded into Northern Virginia. Audra currently sells antiques through shows, galleries, and the Internet. She has been an active E-bay seller since 1998. She enjoys appraising antiques both privately and for the Manassas Museum, where she has also lectured on antique American glass. Audra travels for resale and her personal collections. |
