Auction Highlights– November 2017

A Remington Rand No. 17 typewriter up for bid at the Chesapeake Auction House auction that ends Thanksgiving night.

Welcome back…

2017 is just “flying-by.” It’s hard to believe that Black Friday weekend is upon us, and that Christmas is just a few weeks away. Some auctioneers embrace the weekend; others avoid it. This edition of auction talk will feature a few auctioneers who have embraced the weekend kickoff to the end-of-year selling season. Lots crossing the block over the Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday weekend feature traditional Christmas gifts: diamonds for collectors, jewelry makers and investors, toys for the kids, and “man-cave” collectibles for the guys. Lots are offered live and/or online, and some venues encourage absentee and phone bidding. There’s always a way to bid! Let’s jump right in…
