Erte' was invited to put his stamp on the Courvoisier(R) legacy by designing the decanter and artwork for his own signature series to be released from 1988 to 1994. Erte' immersed himself in the process, using the craft of cognac-making as the inspiration for his designs. Each bottle was meticulously treated over a one-month period, and each label hand painted with rare pigments including 24 carat gold. The final result was approved and inscribed by the artist himself. In an effort to reflect the sophistication of his art, this exclusive blend was composed from only the oldest Grande Champagne cognacs, the most mature dating back to 1892, the year of Erte''s birth. The product is a rare blend with a full, smooth body and a long, subtle finish. In describing his own work, Erte' explained, "I'm in a different world - a dream world that invites oblivion." With this limited edition series, Courvoisier(R) shares a glimpse into that world to be revered by art and cognac aficionados alike. There were only 12,000 made in the world they are brand new sealed. What you get: Bottle #1 doesn't have the protective sleeve, it has it's hang tag.
