Up for bids is a scarce to find Perfecto Superior fountain pen from the 1940s in Excellent condition. A really most attractive top end German pen made for export to the Italian market to compete with the top German manufacturers of the time - you know that company with the stars as well as that company with the pelicans (I've had to relist this item as apparently my previous listing made the cardinal sin of simply referring to these competitior pen manufacturers, apparently in breach of Ebay's listing policies (they called it name spamming, an oxymoron in my view!!)and they removed it without further ado - go figure!). The quality of the celluloid and the stripes to the barrel is especially eye catching - the ink window is green with black stripes whilst a further half of the barrel is blood red with black stripes. The effect is, in a word, stunning! The clip screw is made from yellow amber plastic and catches the light most beautifully even when the pen is capped. The section is amazingly detailed with a ribbed design to aid comfort as well as to look good! The huge original 14 kt gold Perfecto nib is quite nicely detailed but sadly the very tip of one tine has snapped away. The feed looks as new - indeed, I suspect this is a new old stock item that does not appear to have ever been inked. T are absolutely no cracks or hairlines
