WHO WERE THE CELTS?
Per Greek texts, people referred to as the Celts began to appear in about 800 BC to 600 BC, and eventually established themselves in much of eastern and western Europe. In the centuries prior to the 1st century BC, the Celts became the most feared of all the “barbarian” peoples outside of the Greek and Roman civilizations.
The Celts possessed a vibrant culture and impressed the Greeks & Romans with their bold dress and powerful appearance. Celtic women wore intricate braiding style for their hair and wore colorful dresses. The Celtic men spiked their hair, bleached it to a white color, and wore long beards.
The Celts had a very unique style in their battles. Before battle, they would make terrible noises by clashing weapons & shields, singing, and blowing horns.
