The grandfather of pictorial histories, this mammoth work is necessary for any Civil War Enthusiast. Contains more than 3,300 images of the war - its battlefields, common soldiers, officers, forts, diseases, camp scenes, army movements, and material.

Original blue cloth and gilt. Pages are gilded on the top; slight spotting along the edges. B lind-stamped decoration on front cover, quarto (8 x 11 inches). The covers are soiled and stained, the bindings are slack. Although this set looks tough on the outside, the pages are internally tight and clean and stain free. Vol 3 is cracked along the binding on the inside, outside is fine. This fine set came from a smoking household with pets.
