Map maker & cartographer Sir Robert Dudley of England, engraved by A.E. Lucini of Italy, circa 1634 of Nuova Belgia which is New Belgium and then the region became New England and the British Colonies.And then New York State, Connecticut and Massachusetts evolved.Map printed by Richard Pease Lithographer of Albany, NY circa 1850. In very good condition. Size: 19 1/2" by 16 1/2"Please note that Nuovo Amstrdamo is now New York City. And you can see R. Hudson and I. Manhatas which is Manhattan Island.Boston and Cape Cod are also shown. Indian tribes' names are identified along the entire New England coastline including:Minquaes, Sankikans, Tappaens, Morhicans, Nakicans, Penquaboos, Horicans, Menemake, PacabawayThis map was folded in Vol. 2 of The Documentary History of New York, a four-volume publication from the 1850s.The last photo is a description of the Map which was on a separate page of the book.
