Author: Peter Sterry Sterry was an Englishtheologian born in 1613. He became a fellow of Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He associated with the Cambridge Platonists. He became chaplain to Robert Greville, Baron Brooke, and Oliver Cromwell. He also preached to Parliament on important occasions. After the Restoration, he also preached at Hackney. He was someone who expected the Second Coming in 1656. He also sympathised with early Quakerism. His writings include: The Clouds in which Christ Comes; The Spirit Convincing of Sin; England’s Deliverance from the Northern Presbytery, Compared with its Deliverance from the Roman Papacy; Way of God with His People in these Nations; and several others.
