As a side note, these tokens are called by a number of other names besides Conder tokens (U.S.). In the U.K. the official name is Provincial Token-Coinage of the 18th Century. Other popular names include condor tokens, penny (1 d.) or half penny (1/2 d.) tokens. Although largely from England, there are numerous tokens in this series from Wales (primarily Anglesey), Ireland (primarily Dublin) and to a lesser extent, Scotland, thus sometimes all are collectively referred to more simply as eighteenth century British tokens.
