For sale is this 1811 Half Cent with nice VG/Fine details but corrosion on the obverse and the periphery of the reverse. Corrosion shows up badly in pics. This is much, much better in hand than what you see. The letters in Liberty in the headband are more than half visible. All of the stars are visible. On the reverse the States of America lettering is all clear and visible and the center is unaffected by the corrosion. Check out the values of this issue. I recently handled a VF20 example that sold for in excess of two thousand. At that time the entire population report for Professional Coin Grading Service had 135 coins in total across all grades. THAT IS SIMPLY EXCEPTIONALLY RARE for any US coin issue. The US Mint stopped making Half Cents after 1811 and didn't resume their production until 1825. Check the values, the population reports, and any other research and you will see that despite the corrosion this coin is a real bargain.
