Staffordshire Transferware: This great early pearlware plate is from the "Union Border" series. This series was usually made by J & R Riley. This is a rare marked example by Herculaneum Pottery(1793-1841). This plate dates to the late 1820s to early 1830s. Fabulous blue tint to the glaze. The plate measures about 10". It has a crisp and well detailed transfer of early farm life with cows. Impressed Herculaneum and crown mark. Condition is excellent. No chips, cracks, or repairs. No staining. No wear.
