Very Rare 1840 Queen Victoria & Prince Albert Wedding Mug With over 3000 positive feedbacks you know you can trust us. An early pottery mug produced in Staffordshire to commemorate the Royal Wedding of Queen Victoria & Prince Albert in 1840. The mug is well decorated, with portraits of Queen Victoria & Prince Albert on the front, and on the back is the Saxe Coburg Coat of Arms and the inscription "Long Live Queen Victoria & Prince Albert of Saxe Coburg" , to the side is a spray of the British floral emblems The inside of the rim and the handle also have a floral decoration. The mug has a flared relief decorated base. The mug is in good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration just some minor loss of glaze as would be expected of pottery of this age. It is approx 3 1/4" - 80mm talls. .As is normal there is no backstamp on this early piece of pottery. Commemoratives for Victorias Proclamation and Coronation are very hard to find and though not absolutely pristine this mug would be a welcome addition to any Victoria collection. 04.12.038
