1846 Dauphin Deposit Bank Stampless Letter Harrisburg


Please allow time for two images to load. This is an 1846 stampless folded letter from the Dauphin Deposit Bank from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is signed by Robert James Ross. Some research shows that Robert Ross was a midshipman in the United States Navy in 1826. In 1839, he accepted the position of cashier of the Harrisburg Savings Institution, which became the Dauphin Deposit Bank. Mr. Ross remained the cashier until his death in 1861.
