1850 "Franklin Chapter No. 8" Masonic Penny, Alton IL
- Source: eBay
As the pictures show this auction is for a token with the date of 1850 on it, it is a "Franklin Chapter No. 8" Masonic Penny from Alton, Illinois. The date may be simply the year of the charter and not the date the token was minted, but I'm not entirely sure about that and even so, the token looks old - - and in my opinion is more interesting than most Masonic pennies I've seen. Please judge the penny by the pictures, they can be enlarged if needed. Please note: I am currently having more auctions - - please take a look!
