1854 ASTRONOMY ENGRAVING -- BINARY or DOUBLE STARS -- NICE CONTENT AND IMAGE
- Source: eBay
This interesting engraving titled "Binary or DoubleStars" was published in 1854 as an illustration in Smith's Illustrated Astronomy , a popular school text written by Asa Smith and originally published in Boston in 1848. This page is from a disbound copy of the "Revised and Enlarged" edition published six years later. Great for framing.A good seller for Valentine’s Day! The print shows and names several pairs of Binary Stars. The bottom diagram on the page shows the location of the Sun within the Milky Way. Image size is about 8 1/4 by 10 inches with good margins all around. Condition of this 150+ year old print is very good with some age toning of the paper and slight soiling in the margins. High bidder to include $3.50 toward shipping. International would be additional. I package carefully and am happy to combine shipments whenever possible to reduce your costs. Authenticity and buyer satisfaction always guaranteed. Check out my other items ! .
