It is bound in superb folio size fine leather binding with brass clasps and four brass corners with red leather underlay. There is a lowered central emblem/motif to the centre of front board, with the words Holy Bible, Illustrations, References, Maps, encrusted with gilt decoration, and there is also plain blindstamped/tooled decoration to edges of boards also. The clasps and corners have intricate fine design and patternation (see pictures), and the page fore edges are gilt edged when the book is closed.
