Rare Wedgwood Seaweed covered dish. Based on the strong and legible hallmark and internet research, this dish can be dated to 1883. The dish is in overall good condition with just a few issues that do not affect display: a chip to the underside of one of the side handles (pictured), a very tight hairline crack in the lid about 2"-3" in length (hard to see the faint line)(pictured) and some small chips to the inside rim of the dish. The glaze itself is relatively smooth with minimal crazing and some scattered bumps. The sealant layer for the transferware has pooled in the recessed areas near the handles and appears yellow in tint. This is only noticeable upon close inspection, though, and doesn't affect display. It is also not a defect but a regular part of the manufacturing process. The dish measures about 11" long x 7 3/4" wide x 4 1/2" tall. A beautiful and rare addition to your Wedgwood Seaweed collection!
