1889-O Morgan Silver $1 Coin

Detailed item info Product Information If you wish to start collecting rare coins, then the 1889 Morgan Dollar presents the perfect choice. Made up of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper, this Morgan Dollar is 38.1 mm in diameter while weighing 26.73 grams. Tracing its roots back to the Mint Act of 1873 and the Bland-Allison Act of 1878, this silver dollar has deep historical significance. Designed by George T. Morgan, the 1889 Morgan Dollar is part of this Morgan Dollar series which was minted from 1878-1904, and again in 1921. Interestingly, as a representation of liberty, this silver dollar depicts an American woman; presumably a schoolteacher from Philadelphia named a Miss Anna W. Williams, instead of the usual Greek–style figure. With an amazing history surrounding it, owning this Morgan Dollar gives you the chance to relive it.
