In this listing we have: GRAND TOUR BRONZE SCULPTURE STATUE - STANDING BOY WITH GOAT by Picault Unsigned Museum Reproduction (?) - late 19th century, French artist Emile Louis Picault with original patina (E. L. Picault 1833-1915), patinated bronze finish A vintage French figurine this famous and familiar scupture is a classic. This great figure came back with my grandparents after their 'grand tour' of Europe and was purchased in a French antique store.. Measuring the height including the attached original bronze plinth / base makes him about 6" tall. The highly detailed classical sculpture figure stands upright and proud. The next owner may want to have this statue cleaned/restored a bit - we leave it to next owner to tinker with etc. Most importantly the highly detailed figure and such is all intact and we see no signs of damage --- this sat on a bookshelf out of reach and collected dust. Please review the picture(s) and determine the quality etc. of this grand nice statue. Authentic older item not a 20th century resin cast as is often seen or found now.NOTE - we were asked about foundry marks underneath or artist signature etc - we simply don't see anything on front, back or underneath or we would have included that info in listing. Selling this figure as is.circa 1890's is what we're told. Collector's item, yet eminently appropriate for contemporary use. My grandparents collected quality American / European antique items. They were serious about entertaining in a way I am not. My family invested in quality items for gracious living. Estate Used condition. CONDITION: VERY GOOD overall. Review the posted pictures. Vintage heirloom quality, these were used for 30+ years for entertaining, as the items were acquired post World War II. This is an outstanding, truly versatile, group/set of good weight/heft, elegant pattern. Bid based on info above, but know these were from a very good collection of very fine household goods that were well taken care of. Expect general marks, spots, scratches, wear and patina commensurate with age and use of treasured serverware/flatware used for special meals/holidays. All t his has been stored away in the box for many years and a simple cleaning/polishing will make it look even more elegant on your table.
