You are bidding on an EXTEMELY RARE and desireable old "good for" trade token once used at the (post) Exchange at old Fort Grant, Arizona Territory. Fort Grant has long been abandoned, which happened around 1905. Old "Camp Grant" or "Fort Grant" actually sprang up BEFORE the US CIVIL WAR in year 1860...located near Aravaipa Canyon...around 1872 after the "Camp Grant Massacre"...site was moved to the southwestern slope of Graham Mountain in Graham County....had a prominent role in the "Apache Wars"....lots of colorful history. With Fort Grant being abandoned in 1905...this token was definitely used in the "Arizona Territory" era (pre Arizona statehood) THIS IS A RARE AND HISTORIC TOKEN. This is a RARE token. If you look in the terrific book "Arizona Trade Tokens 2010" (Spooner) this token is listed as catalog #Ftg-280b....and book gives this token an R8 rating which translates to 7-12 specimens known !! THIS IS A RARE TOKEN....this is why I love old western trade tokens....do you realize what a US Coin would sell for if 7-12 specimens were known??? try hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars...these pcs of "location specific pioneer coinage" are so rare, and such a relative bargain. Besides being a rare and historic token.....this token is in excellent condition....it is a beauty. Trade token is brass, round, about 20mm in
