Greetings and thanks for visiting my auction! Up for bid is this beautiful 1898S Liberty Head Double Eagle Twenty Dollar gold piece. No Reserve, low start price and free shipping! The images are actually scans as I could not get a photo that was not blurry. The result is the image is a bit darker than the actual coin, which is bright and attractive. I am only selling because I am not working right now and things are getting really difficult. I am a collector of all US coins but I am not an expert so I am not even going to attempt to suggest a proper grade for this coin. You will see evidence of handling in the photos, mostly on the obverse. There are some scratches above the date and below the neck of the liberty that I have zoomed in on in the photos. There is also noticeable scratching to the left of liberty and some on her face. You will notice a little bit of loss to the word “liberty” on her crown and on the reverse my scans make the “e pluribus unum” look weaker than it actually is. All in all this is still a fine coin, in my opinion. Again, I am not an expert and I picked up all my coins simply because I am attracted to them.
