RARE 1899 PHILIPPINES AGUINALDO EXECUTIONS ILLUSTRATED FIRST EDITION VERY SCARCE

OFFERED HERE is a VERY rare 1899 era first edition, Life and Adventures in the Philippines by George S. Maclauchlan, who was part of the "Gallant 20th Regiment" in the Philippines. Bound in a very handsome patterned paper product of some kind. 8x5 inches, 120 pages, plus a section of poetry and ads at the rear. Oddly, the ads are for shops and businesses in Mars Hill, Maine, in Aroostook County, only a mile from the border with New Brunswick, Canada. We presume the author was from there, and the book was published in Mars Hill. We lack publishing details because the title page appears to be missing, and a few of the early pages have wear. Profusely illustrated, including remarkable tinted photos showing the "execution of three murderers who killed wounded American soldiers." Many other tinted photos. We think this book is so rare because it is highly politically incorrect. It shows American soldiers shooting Filipinos, it uses the 'N' word for Filipinos, and is the raw narrative of an American soldier from the 20th Regiment who was not overly fond of the residents of this island.
