Beautiful AMERICAN HUDSON RIVER SCHOOL! LARGE Scale Oil Painting LANDSCAPE WITH GRAZING CATTLE" Signed W Hart, Attributed to NEW YORK Artist WILLIAM HART (1863-1937), pupil of Lefebvre. Oil on Canvas, in Original Period Frame. Please note, that I'm on vacation right now, so it may be delay in email answering and in shipping. I will be back on Aug 24th. This is really a great, beautiful large landscape painting very Classical looking Hudson River school! The painting is filled with inner light and very sensitive, since artist studied in Paris it is very close to Barbizon Art! Painting is signed W. Hart in Lower left. Dated circa 1900 A landscape and portrait painter, William Howard Hart studied in New York with J. Alden Weir and at the Art Students League as well as in Paris in the 1890s with Gustave Boulanger and Jules Lefebvre at the Academy Julian. Shortly after he returned from Paris, Herbert and Adeline Adams invited him to Cornish, New Hampshire w he painted landscapes and figure works, some with Adeline Adams as the subject. He also purchased property near the Adams in Plainfield and then when in residence, devoted as much time to acting in the theater as to his artwork. He died unmarried on February 20, 1937 and left most of his estate to Herbert Adams. Hart exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Paris
